The Grand Finale of “Know-How” week was celebrated on Saturday, 15 February 2020. Dr Adam Bohr (great grandson of Neils Bohr, who discovered Bohr atom model) from Copenhagen, Denmark was the chief guest. Dr Adam Bohr is a long time friend of school vice principal Dr Gopan Gopalakrishnan. They worked together at University of Paris during 2012-2015.
Along with Dr Bohr, a senior pharmaceutical scientist Dr Korbinian Löbmann (Germany), Ms. Heidi Öblom and Ms. Erica Sjöholm (senior research scholars from Finland) were also present at the event.
Angelites presented various Science, Social Science and English projects in front of the special guests. Ms. Indu Bala, Ms. Shweta Thakur, Ms. Pooja Katoch, Ms. Kanwalpreet Kaur, Ms. Geetu Sharma and Ms. Ritu Sharma have prepared the students for the exhibition/presentation. All the visiting academics were impressed by the quality of presentation of Angelites.
Dr Bohr commented that this was his first experience in an Indian school and he did not expect this level of quality from students of Gr.III-Gr.IX. Later, they visited several classrooms and interacted with our children.
The event had a session of “Ask the Expert” where students got a chance to ask various questions to the visiting scientists. Dr Bohr and others answered the questions in an informative and entertaining manner.
The visitors requested for a “Bhangra” performance by the students and the event was concluded with a typical punjabi “bhagra” by the boys.
